127-11 May 31, 2011 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Open Space and Recreation Committee at its meeting of May 9, 2011 voted to recommend to the Township Council the acquisition of two parcels of undeveloped land on Wiley Terrace known as Block 159.08, Lots 53 and 55; and WHEREAS, these two parcels are adjacent to a parcel of undeveloped Township owned land located behind Fire Station No. 3 which is located on Ridgeway Avenue at Wiley Terrace; and WHEREAS, the acquisition will be partially funded using a Planning Incentive Grant from the Green Acres Program; and WHEREAS, this Grant requires the Township to obtain property appraisals, land surveys, environmental assessments and title insurance; and WHEREAS, the Grant will fund a portion of these professional services if the property is acquired; and WHEREAS, the Township Administration desires to pursue the acquisition of these two parcels as recommended by the Township’s Open Space and Recreation Committee; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs with the recommendation of the Open Space and Recreation Committee. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of Township of West Orange that the Township’s Administration is authorized to proceed with the acquisition of Block 159.08, Lots 53 and 55 on Wiley Terrace for open space and recreation purposes as recommended by the Township’s Open Space and Recreation Committee. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Township Administration is authorized to solicit proposals for professional services associated with these acquisitions for property appraisals, land surveys and environmental assessments.
