1 Conference Meeting – October 30, 2018 The Township Council of the Township of West Orange met in the Council Chambers, Municipal Building, 66 Main Street, West Orange, New Jersey at 7:02 p.m., Karen Carnevale, Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on October 25, 2017 and published in the West Orange Chronicle on November 2, 2017. Roll Call: Present: Councilwoman Casalino, Councilman Cirilo, Councilman Guarino, Councilman Krakoviak, and Council President McCartney A Mayor’s Proclamation was presented to Tammy Williams, Human Relations Chairperson, on behalf of the many volunteer organizations within the Township recognizing “Extra Mile Day” on November 1, 2018 by Council President Susan McCartney. Mr. Sayers gave a brief update on the redevelopment area. 3 Ordinances on Second and Final Reading - None Pending Matters/New Matters/Council Discussion Council President asked about street cleaning in the area of town with the 6-month trial period of suspended parking on the streets. Councilwoman Casalino inquired about naming the new parking lot at the Pleasantdale Center. Also discussed was the issue of exiting the parking lot at Burger King safely. Mr. Sayers gave an update regarding the Legionellosis situation and the Essex Green Executive Drive redevelopment and Aron’s Supermarket. Ordinance(s) on First Reading Ordinance 2555-18 On motion made by Councilman Guarino and seconded by Councilman Cirilo, An Ordinance Amending and Supplementing Chapter 7, Traffic, Subsection 7-37.1b Municipal Parking Yards; Metered Parking, Permit Parking, Time Limited Parking, and 7-23.1, of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange was approved on first reading, ordered advertised according to law, to come up for second and final reading on September 25, 2018. All members voting “Aye”. ABC Hearing ABC Resolution 613-18 a. 613-18 Resolution Accepting and Rewarding Bid for Award of a New Hotel (A36”) Liquor License Pursuant to NJSA 33:1-12.20 for Cambria Suites Hotel, 12 Rooney Circle, West Orange, NJ and Contingent Upon a Satisfactory ABC Investigation by the West Orange Police Department and Receipt of Bid Amount (Legal-Kayser) On motion made by Councilman Guarino and seconded by Councilman Cirilo, the above referenced resolution was approved. All members voting “Aye”. At 8:51 p.m., on motion made by Council President McCartney and seconded by Councilman Guarino, the meeting was adjourned. All members voting “Aye”.
