1 Conference Meeting – May 26, 2020 The West Orange Township Council met virtually due to the Covid 19 pandemic beginning at 6:34 p.m., Karen Carnevale, Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on October 31, 2019 and published in the West Orange Chronicle on November 7, 2019. Roll Call – Councilman Guarino, Councilman Krakoviak, Councilwoman Matute-Brown, Councilwoman McCartney, Council President Casalino Council President started the meeting with a moment of silence for the additional residents who have passed due to the Covid 19 pandemic. A Salute to Seniors was presented by Laura VanDyke-Senior Services Program Coordinator, Dorothy Sanders – Senior Liability Coordinator and Noelia Perez – Senior Services Program Assistant. Joe Brennan- West Orange resident and Vietnam War Veteran and Joe Fagan-West Orange Public Information Officer presented a Memorial Day remembrance. Mr. Sayers gave an update on redevelopment. The Council gave their liaison announcements. 2 *Resolution(s) adopted on Consent Agenda: a. 119-20 Resolution Authorizing the Collector of Taxes to Refund Payment to the Listed Taxpayer Due to An Overpayment of Taxes Due to a Duplicate Payment (Gagliardo) b. 120-20 Resolution Authorizing Renewal of Superior Vision Plan for a Two-Year Period Commencing on July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2022 (Legal-Maier) c. 121-20 Resolution Authorizing the Adoption of the 2020 Essex County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update (OEM- Allegrino) d. 122-20 Resolution Authorizing the Township of West Orange Tax Collector to Prepare and Mail Estimated Tax Bills in Accordance with P.L. 1994, c. 72 (Gross) On motion made by Councilman Guarino and seconded by Councilwoman Matute-Brown, the consent agenda was implemented. All members voting “Aye.” Pending Matters/New Matters/Council Discussion Update re: 2020 Municipal Budget At 9:13 p.m. on motion made by Councilman Guarino and seconded by Councilwoman Matute-Brown, the Public meeting was adjourned.
