Conference Meeting — May 18, 2021 The West Orange Township Council met virtually due to the Covid 19 pandemic beginning at 6:30 p.m., Karen Carnevale, Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on November 30, 2020, and published in the West Orange Chronicle on December 10, 2020. Roll Call — Councilwoman Casalino, Councilwoman McCartney, Councilman Rutherford, Councilwoman Williams, Council President Matute-Brown, Mayor Parisi Councilwoman Casalino presented a resolution on behalf of the Township Council to Dave Cubie, W.O. Public Library Director recognizing the staff of the library for the outstanding service to the community throughout the Covid crisis. Megan Brill, Downtown West Orange Alliance Executive Director gave an update as to the happenings in the downtown area. The Council gave their liaison announcements. Councilwoman Casalino, Councilman Rutherford and Council President Matute-Brown voting Aye, Councilwoman McCartney voting Nay and Councilwoman Williams abstaining. The resolution was tabled. All members voting “Aye.” Ordinance 2644-21 On motion made by Councilwoman Casalino and seconded by Council President Matute-Brown, An Ordinance Creating a Reclassification and Salary Schedule of Certain Township of West Orange Employees Setting Forth Their Titles, Classification and Salary Ranges and Adopting a Salary Guide and Establishing the Employees Status as a Township Employee Under the Guidelines of the New Jersey Department of Personnel — FMBA MOA - Fire Superior MOA Amended was approved on first reading, ordered advertised according to law, to come up for second and final reading on June 22, 2021. All members voting “Aye.” Pending Matters/New Matters/Council Discussion The Council discussed the Municipal Budget, Outdoor cafés, Professional Services Contracts and the Hazel Avenue School playground. At 11:22 p.m., on motion made by Councilwoman Williams and seconded by Councilman Rutherford, the Council Meeting was adjourned. All members voting “Aye.
