Conference Meeting — October 25, 2022 The Conference meeting began at 6:34 p.m., Karen Carnevale, Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section $ of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The annual notice was emailed to the Star Ledger and filed in the Township Clerk’s office on November 24, 2021, and published in the West Orange Chronicle on December 2, 2021. Roll Call — Councilwoman Casalino, Councilwoman Matute-Brown, Councilman Rutherford, Councilwoman Williams, Council President McCartney Lt. Patrick Matullo gave a presentation with regard to the West Orange Police Department Community Services Unit and their visit to Kelly Elementary School for School Violence Awareness Week. He also spoke about the Community Outreach Program Coffee with a Cop that recently took place. The Council gave their Liaison announcements. All members present voting “Aye.” Resolution 285-22 Resolution Temporarily Suspending the Acceptance of Applications for Local Support of Proposed Cannabis Businesses (Legal-Moon) A motion was made by Councilwoman Casalino and seconded by Council President McCartney, to amend the language referencing the date of acceptance of applications from January 1, 2023 to December 1, 2022. Councilwoman Casalino, Councilman Rutherford and Council President McCartney voting “Aye.” Councilwoman Matute-Brown and Councilwoman Williams voting “Nay.” On motion made by Councilman Rutherford and seconded by Councilwoman Casalino, the above referenced resolution was approved as amended. All members present voting “Aye.” Pending Matters-New Matters-Council Discussion A conversation with regard to Cannabis Retail Businesses and how many licenses will be allowed. ABC Hearing On motion made by Councilwoman Williams and seconded by Councilwoman Casalino, the Public meeting was adjourned at 11: 12 p.m., and the Council entered into an ABC Hearing. All members present voting “Aye.” 704-22 On motion made by Councilwoman Williams and seconded by Councilwoman Matute-Brown, Resolution Renewing Alcoholic Beverage Retail Consumption License No. 0722-33-068-016, Wilshire Hospitality Services, LLC t/a Wilshire Catering (Pocket), for the 2022-2023 Term and to Issue a New License Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 33:1-12.18 was approved. All members present voting “Aye.” At 11:14 p.m., on motion made by Councilwoman Williams and seconded by Councilwoman Matute-Brown, the ABC Hearing was adjourned.
