Public Library Project — Peter Smeraldo — Assistant Business Administrator *Reading of Petitions and Communications and Bids - None *Bills — June 27, 2023 Councilwoman Ghebremicael asked that the bills for Trenk, Isabel, Siddiqi and Shahdanian for January and March 2023 in the amount of $905.00, for Murray Zimmerman for December 2022 thru May 2023 in the amount of $3,788.60, for Fox Rothschild-March 2023 in the amount of $37,576.14 and April 2023 in the amount of $31,501.37, for Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, January thru March 2023 in the amount of $11,227.00 and for Battaglia Associates-April 2023, in the amount of $17,920.00 be pulled from the bills list. Councilman Rutherford asked that the bills for Sabbagh Thapar, LLC be pulled, as well as the bills for Trenk, Isabel, Siddiqi and Shahdanian. All members present voting “Aye.” Resolution(s) Removed from the Consent Agenda Resolution 243-23 Resolution Permitting Display of Fireworks at Degnan Field/West Orange High School (Legal-Moon) This resolution permits the W.O. Recreation Department to display fireworks on July 4, 2023 with a rain date of July 5, 2023. There was no motion offered for approval of the above referenced resolution, therefore the resolution failed to pass. Resolution 245-23 Resolution Authorizing an Executive Session for the Purpose of Discussing Litigation Specifically Police/Fire Litigation Involving Covid (Legal-Trenk) On motion made by Council President Williams and seconded by Councilwoman Casalino, the motion failed. Councilwoman Casalino voting and Council President Williams voting “Aye.” Councilwoman Ghebremicael, Councilman Rutherford and Councilwoman Scarpa voting “Nay.” Resolution 248-23 Resolution Commemorating the 250th Anniversary of the Establishment of the United States as an Independent Nation, and Authorizes the Appointment of a Committee to Develop a Plan for this Commemoration that will Promote the Maximum Involvement of Our Residents, Neighborhoods, Businesses, Schools, Civic Organizations, and Institutions in the Commemorations (Legal-Moon) A motion to approve was made by Council President Williams and seconded by Councilwoman Casalino, but rescinded afterwards by Council President Williams. A motion to table the resolution was made by Councilwoman Ghebremicael and seconded by Councilman Rutherford. Councilwoman Ghebremicael, Councilman Rutherford, Councilwoman Scarpa and Council President Williams voting “Aye.” Councilwoman Casalino voting “Nay.” Resolution 251-23 Resolution Authorizing Acceptance Of Grant American Rescue Plan (Arp) Act — 2021 Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund Automated License Plate Reader Initiative- Grant No. Alpr-14-21 (Gengaro) On motion made by Council President Williams and seconded by Councilwoman Casalino, the above referenced resolution was approved.
