Special Public Meeting- August 22, 2025 The Special Public meeting began at 3:36 p.m., the Municipal Clerk read the following statement: This is to inform the general public that this meeting is being held in compliance with Section 5 of the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, Public Law 1975. The notice for this meeting was emailed to the Star Ledger and the West Orange Chronicle on August 20, 2025. Roll Call — Councilwoman Casalino, Councilwoman Rudin, Councilwoman Scarpa, Council President Krakoviak Pledge of Allegiance Public Comment No one wished to be heard. Resolution(s) 192-25 Resolution Memorializing the Expiration of the 60-day Period of the Mayor’s Apparent Appointment of the Interim Business Administrator and Withholding Council Authorization of Any Extension of Such Time Period at this Time (Council) On motion was made by Councilwoman Casalino and seconded by Councilwoman Scarpa, the above referenced resolution was approved. All members present voting “Aye.” Pending Matters/New Matters/Council Discussion Budget Workshop Dates - Tentative Dates — August 29, 2025 and September 2, 2025 After the discussion regarding the Budget Workshop dates, a motion was made by Councilwoman Rudin and seconded by Councilwoman Scarpa, to add a Special meeting on the same date as the Budget Workshop for consideration of the Café Ordinance. After a lengthy discussion, and on advice from John Burke, Esq., explaining to the Council that this topic should not be discussed as it was not a part of the original Special Meeting agenda, both Councilwoman Rudin and Councilwoman Scarpa rescinded their motion(s). At 4:27 p.m., on motion made by Councilwoman Casalino and seconded by Councilwoman Scarpa, the meeting was adjourned.
