12-10 January 5, 2010 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the division of Alcoholic Beverages Control (ABC) is responsible for administering the Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) State Block Grant Program Enforcing the Underage Drinking Laws; and WHEREAS, The West Orange Police Department applied to ABC for funds in connection with a project entitled Cops-in-Shop Grant; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange Township Council had already reviewed the application and had deemed it to be in the best interests of the Township; and WHEREAS, the project is a joint project between the State of New Jersey (ABC) and the West Orange Department for the purpose of combating underage drinking; and WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey (ABC) has allocated a federal sub grant award in the amount of $___________to the Township; and WHEREAS, there is no matching requirement by the Township. NOW, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Township Council that the Township of West Orange wishes to participate with the State of New Jersey, Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) to the greatest extent possible; that the Township hereby approves and authorizes the execution of the sub grant award documentation; and that the Chief Financial Officer of the Township shall accept the funds in connection with the project from the ABC and make disbursements in accordance with said application. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Chief of Police be and are hereby authorized to execute any and all documentation necessary to obtain the grant and effectuate the purposes set forth therein. A copy of the grant shall be available to the public upon request and in accordance with NJSA 47:1A-1 et seq. Karen J.
