69-10 March 23, 2010 ACCEPTANCE RESOLUTION 2009 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT OPERATIONS AND SAFETY PROGRAM WHEREAS, the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has granted the West Orange Fire Department funding through its Assistance to Firefighters Grant – Operations and Safety Program to purchase equipment needed to stock the Technical Response Trailer for the West Orange Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Program; and WHEREAS, the approved project costs total $52,758.00. The Federal share is 90% or $47,483.00 of the approved amount, and the Township’s share of the costs is 10% or $5,275.00; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange hereby acknowledges that the necessary Technical Rescue program will meet or exceed the Department of Labor’s mandate to provide emergency response to the West Orange Department of Public Works and members of this community. Equipment purchased will be consistent with current Confined Space and Trench Rescue standards; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Township Council of the Township of West Orange does hereby accept said grant from FEMA and authorizes completion of any documents required therewith. The Township of West Orange acknowledges that the $52,758.00 grant requires a 10% cash match in the amount of $5,275.80, which will be accounted for through a capital bond ordinance. Karen J.
