72-10 March 23, 2010 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services will be processing a modification to increase the funding of Local Public Health Emergency Response to H1N1 Grant (10-99-BT-L-1) to the West Orange Health Department, and WHEREAS, an additional $28,391.00 will be available to the Director of Health/Health Officer to be utilized to meet the objectives outlined by the State to provide a jurisdictional vaccination plan that puts special emphasis on outreach and delivery to under-vaccinated populations, and WHEREAS, the Director of Health/Health Officer has reviewed the budget modification and recommends approval and acceptance of these additional funds that will be used exclusively to support vaccine efforts, including communications, advertisement, private sector coordination and additional efforts to reach out to traditionally under vaccinated groups, and WHEREAS, the West Orange Health Department agrees to execute the objectives outlined by the NJDHSS so that all funds are fully expended within the grant period ending 07-30-2010 and WHEREAS, it is further understood that the funding in the amount of $28,391.00 will not have a carry forward option; NOW BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to accept this funding agreement with the NJDHSS on behalf of the West Orange Health Department, and it is further RESOLVED, that a permanent copy of the award letter and funding application be maintained by the Director of the Department of Health. ________________________________ Karen Carnevale Honorable Susan McCartney Township Clerk Council President Adopted: March 23, 2010
