109-10 April 27, 2010 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS , the Township of West Orange desires to improve the drainage conveyance system in 230 and 232 Eagle Rock Avenue at Wilson Terrace; and WHEREAS , the services of a Professional Engineering and Land Surveying firm will be needed to complete the design and construction documents for this project; and WHEREAS , the firm of G.C. Stewart Associates, Inc. of 320 Runnymede Road, P.O. Box 66, Essex Fells, New Jersey submitted a proposal dated April 21, 2010 for engineering and land surveying services associated with these drainage improvement – Topographic Mapping & Storm Drainage Study, Eagle Rock Avenue and Wilson Terrace; Block 112.03, Lots 2, 5.01, 5.10, and 5 in the amount of $12,600.00; and WHEREAS , the firm of G.C. Stewart Associates performed similar services for the Township and the Municipal Engineer recommends their services be obtained for this design; and WHEREAS , this work is considered a professional service which does not require competitive bidding per N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a)(i); and WHEREAS , there are funds available for these services; and WHEREAS, the Township Council of the Township of West Orange concurs with the foregoing. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that a professional services contract be awarded to G.C. Stewart Associates, Inc., 320 Runnymede Road, P.O. Box 66, Essex Fell, New Jersey to perform the services to design and prepare construction documents for drainage improvements – Topographic Mapping and Storm Drainage Study, Eagle Rock Avenue and Wilson Terrace, Block 112.02, Lots 2, 5.01, 5.10 and 5 in accordance with its proposal dated April 21, 2010 in the amount not to exceed $12,600.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that whereas under the Local Public Contracts law services to be provided herein are of a professional nature and will not reasonably permit the drawing of specifications of receipt of competitive bids. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be published in the West Orange Chronicle as required by law within ten (10) days of its passage in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(1)(a)(i) Karen J.
