239-10 September 14, 2010 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A WINDOW CONTRACT FOR VARIOUS GOODS AND SERVICES WHEREAS, the West Orange Department of Engineering had to address a drainage problem at the Pleasantdale Elementary School located on Pleasant Valley way and Greenwood Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering determined a new storm drainage system would need to be installed to remedy this problem. Three companies were contacted for quotes and all three responded as follows: Grabowski Construction, Inc. Shauger Property Services, Inc. A & J Contractors Group 770 Northfield Ave. 429 Dodd Street 105 Federal Road West Orange, NJ 07052 East Orange, NJ 07017 Monroe Twp., NJ 08831 $22,780.00 $31,000.00 $26,826.00 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A-20.4 et seq., when the cost of goods and/or services that fall between $17,500.00 and the bid threshold-of $36,000.00 in the aggregate, an approval by resolution. must be in place prior to contract; and WHEREAS, the award of contract shall go to Grabowski Construction, Inc. for the amount of $22,780.00; and WHEREAS, the above named business or businesses have completed and submitted a Business Entity Disclosure Certification which certifies the business entity has not made any reportable contributions to a political or candidate committee in the Township of West Orange in the previous one year, and that the contract will prohibit the above named vendors from making any reportable contributions through the term of the contract. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the Township of West Orange authorizes the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Township to issue and execute a Purchase Order for the foregoing, with funds certified available by the Chief Financial Officer; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Administrator is hereby authorized to arrange to pay for the foregoing in accordance with the terms of the purchase order. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Disclosure Entity Certification be placed on file with this resolution and notice of this award will be published in accordance with the applicable law.
