255-10 September 28, 2010 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange requires construction management, administration and inspection services for the project known as Valley Road Streetscape, Freeman Street to Central Avenue; and WHEREAS, the services of a Professional Engineering firm will be needed to provide these construction management services; and WHEREAS, the firm of Dewberry of 200 Broadacres Drive, Suite 410, Bloomfield, New Jersey submitted a proposal dated September 23, 2010 for engineering services associated with the construction services for Valley Road Streetscape from Freeman Street to Central Avenue in the amount of $47,280.00; and WHEREAS, the firm of Dewberry responded to the Township’s open request for professional engineering services for the period September 1, 2010 to February 28, 2011; and WHEREAS, the firm of Dewberry provided design services for this project; and WHEREAS, there are funds available for these services; and WHEREAS, the Township Council for the Township of West Orange concurs with the foregoing. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that a professional services contract be awarded to Dewberry, 200 Broadacres Drive, Bloomfield, New Jersey to perform the services to provide construction management, administration and inspection services for Valley Road Streetscape from Freeman Street to Central Avenue in accordance with its proposal dated September 23, 2010 in the amount not to exceed $47,280.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that whereas under the Local Public Contracts Law services to be provided herein are of a professional nature and will not reasonably permit the drawing of specifications or receipt of competitive bids.
