263-10 October 12, 2010 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township Council by Resolution No. 162-10 dated June 29, 2010 authorized the Municipal Engineer to negotiate a contract or contracts on a emergency basis pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6 to eliminate the overflow of sanitary sewage into the basements of homes at 3 and 5 Lessing Court through the installation of individual ejector systems; and WHEREAS, the Municipal Engineer’s estimate of the cost for this work was $37,500.00 per property for a total of $75,000.00; and WHEREAS, the cost proposal submitted by Rocco Ciufalo Plumbing and Heating LLC of 247-251 Watchung Avenue, West Orange, N.J. 07052 to install two individual ejector systems at 3 and 5 Lessing Court is $79,500.00; and WHEREAS, the additional cost is due to the greater depth of the pump chambers and the greater depth of the connection of the pump discharges to the sanitary sewer main than originally anticipated; and WHEREAS, the Township Engineer by letter dated October 5, 2010 recommends the additional appropriation of $4,500.00; and WHERAS, the Township Council concurs in the foregoing. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that an additional $4,500.00 be appropriated to eliminate sanitary sewage overflows at 3 and 5 Lessing Court bringing the total appropriation authorized on an emergency basis for this work pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6 to $79,500.00.
