288-10 November 4, 2010 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange has advertised for bids, pursuant to the New jersey Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S. 40A:11-1) for the Mayfair District Sanitary Sewer Improvements Contract No. 3a West Orange, New Jersey; and WHEREAS, financing for this project is provided by the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust which is administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection; and WHEREAS, at the date, and time and place advertised for the opening of said bids, the Township did receive thirteen bids; and WHEREAS, the engineering design firm of Hatch Mott MacDonald reviewed the submission of all bidders, and based on their findings recommends a contract be awarded to Stacey Contracting, Inc., of 642 Broad Street, Clifton, New Jersey 07013 submitted the lowest responsive bid in the amount of $625,286.65; and WHEREAS, the Township Engineer concurs with the findings and recommendation of Hatch Mott MacDonald; and WHEREAS, the Township Council of the Township of West Orange considered said bids and further considered the recommendation of Hatch Mott MacDonald and the Township Engineer; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs with the recommendation of Hatch Mott MacDonald and the Township Engineer. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Council of the Township of West Orange that the contract for the Mayfair District Sanitary Sewer Improvements, Contract No. 3a in the amount of $625,286.65 subject to authorization from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Certified Checks and/or Bid Bonds of all except the lowest responsible bidder be forthwith returned, and the Mayor and Township Clerk be and they hereby are respectively authorized to execute and attest a contract for the foregoing.
