West Orange Planning Board Reorganization Resolution 2025

PLANNING BOARD TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE ESSEX COUNTY, NEW JERSEY RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Article 9, Section 40:55D-24 of the Municipal Land Use Law of the State of New Jersey as applied to the Township of West Orange provides for the creation by ordinance of a Planning Board (“the Board”) serving the Township, and WHEREAS, the aforementioned provisions of the Municipal Land Use Law, together with the provisions contained in Chapter 25, Article II, Section 25-46.5 and Chapter 25, Article II, Section 46.6 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange, empower the Board to elect a chairperson, vice-chairperson, and secretary of the Board from among its members (Or in the case of secretary, a municipal employee); and WHEREAS, Section 25-46.6 of Chapter 25 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange further empowers the Board to appoint an attorney and such other staff, including experts, as the Board may deem necessary; and WHEREAS, Section 25-51.15 of Chapter 25 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange further empowers the Board to appoint a Class IV Member of the Planning Board to the Site Plan Review Advisory Board (“SPRAB”); and WHEREAS, the Board elected officers and appointed an attorney and staff and made appointments to SPRAB at a regularly scheduled public meeting on January 8, 2025, after due public notice in the manner and within the time frame prescribed by the Open Public Meetings Act of the State of New Jersey; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Board of the Township of West Orange, that the following individuals shall assume the offices to which they have been duly elected or appointed, to serve until the January 2026 regular meeting of the Board or until a successor is duly elected or appointed: Elected Officers: Dr. Robert Bagoff, Chairman Jerry Guarino, Vice-Chairman Jamilet Baquerizo Vite, Secretary Appointees: Diana Powell McGovern, Attorney
