10-16 January 5, 2016 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange (the “Township”) has had an agreement with Robert DeFilippis, D.V.M. (“Dr. DeFilippis”) for veterinary supervision at the Alex Caprio Animal Control Facility, 311 Watchung Avenue, West Orange, NJ 07052 (the “ACACF”) since it opened in 1995; and WHEREAS, N.J.A.C. 8:23A-1.9 requires the supervision of the ACACF by a doctor of veterinary medicine for the control of diseases and adequate health care of the animals; and WHEREAS, the Township wishes to enter into a two-year contract with Dr. DeFilippis for veterinary supervision of the ACACF from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2017; and WHEREAS, Dr. DeFilippis is a New Jersey licensed Veterinarian (02194) located at Roseland Animal Care, 215 Eagle Rock Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068; and WHEREAS, Dr. DeFilippis will provide all of the functions and duties of veterinary supervision, such as working with the Health Officer to maintain a disease control program, examining impounded animals, training Township personnel in euthanasia techniques, and performing basic veterinary care at the ACACF; and WHEREAS, Dr. DeFilippis has agreed to perform the services of veterinary supervision outlined in the Veterinary Supervision Services Contract, annexed hereto as Attachment “A”; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, County of Essex, State of New Jersey, that the Mayor and Township Clerk be and are hereby authorized to enter into and attest to, respectively, the annexed two (2) year contract with Dr. DeFilippis, effective January 1, 2016 and terminating December 31, 2017, setting forth the respective obligations and undertakings and consideration to be paid in the total amount of $8,406.00 in 2014 and $8,532.00 in 2017.
