190-18 August 7, 2018 RESOLUTION TO AWARD CONTRACT FOR FIRE APPARATUS MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange Fire Department has requested the services of a company to perform routine maintenance and repair on a various number of equipment to keep it operating efficiently, see Exhibit A; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the Local Public Contract Law N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq., the Purchasing Agent advertised for bids and did receive one (1) submission at the date and time posted; and WHEREAS, one bid was received and that bid was reviewed by both the West Orange Fire department and the Purchasing Agent to be found responsible and responsive to the specifications and cost restraints; and WHEREAS, the following proposal has been submitted by: Fire & Safety Services, 200 Ryan Street, South Plainfield, New Jersey 07080 Annual maintenance costs: Chassis $1,225.00 per unit (7) units @ $1,225.00 = $8,575.00 Pumper $425.00 per unit (5) units @ $425.00 = $2,125.00 Aerial Ladder (1) unit $2,400.00 (Pierce Aerial Only) General Repairs Rates: Hourly Repair Rate $80.00 Hourly OT $100.00 Travel Cost $80.00 OEM Parts Mark Up 20% over cost NOW LET IT BE RESOLVED, by the Council of the Township of West Orange that the Fire Apparatus maintenance and repair contract be awarded to Fire & Safety Services for the term of 24 months with the option to extend one (1) additional year. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to arrange to pay for the forgoing in accordance with the terms of the purchase order and from funds certified by the Chief Financial Officer.
