202-18 September 4, 2018 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, through its Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program, has established a grant award in the amount of $11,191.00 (“Grant”), which is aimed at officer safety and wellness in our communities; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange Police Department (“Township”) seeks to utilize the Grant funds to assure safer and enhanced operations by the WOPD and has submitted an application for the Grant as annexed hereto as Exhibit “A”; and WHEREAS, as part of the application, the Mayor of the Township of West Orange is required to execute the Certifications and Assurances annexed hereto as Exhibit “B;” and NOW, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE that that the Township authorizes the application for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program; and be it further RESOLVED, that the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute the Certifications and Assurances annexed hereto as Exhibit “B” and any and all documents needed for the completion of the application; and it is further RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law. . ________________________________ ________________________________ Karen J.
