21-19 January 22, 2019 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, County of Essex, State of New Jersey recognizes that the abuse of alcohol and drugs is a serious problem in our society amongst persons of all ages; and WHEREAS, the Township Council further recognizes that it is incumbent upon not only public officials but upon the entire community to take action to prevent such abuses in our community; and WHEREAS, the Township Council has applied for funding to the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse through the County of Essex; and WHEREAS, the Township Council previously adopted Resolution 19-19 (“Previous Resolution”) authorizing submission of a strategic plan for the Orange Municipal Alliance grant for fiscal year 2020; and WHEREAS, the Previous Resolution contained an error regarding the amount of funding; and WHEREAS, the Township seeks to rescind the Previous Resolution and adopt the within Resolution; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, County of Essex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. The Township Council does hereby authorize submission of a strategic plan for the West Orange Municipal Alliance grant for fiscal year 2020 in the amount of: New Jersey Drug Enforcement and Demand Reduction Fund $57,202.00 Cash Match $14,300.50 In-Kind $42,901.50 2. The Township Council acknowledges the terms and conditions for administering the Municipal Alliance grant, including the administrative compliance and audit requirements; and 3. The previous resolution (19-19) is hereby rescinded.
