69-19 February 19, 2019 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange (the “Township”) is considering the possible acquisition of Rock Spring Golf Course which consists of approximately 137.92 acres located at 90 Rock Spring Road, also known as Block 46.01 Lot 22; Block 160, Lot 2; Block 160, Lot 10; Block 160.01, Lot 30; and Block 160.01, Lot 34 on the Tax Map of the Township (the “Property”); and WHEREAS, the Township desires to explore the viability of obtaining funds from the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program with regard to certain portions of the Property, which may become deed restricted for permanent open space for the public including recreational uses; WHEREAS, the current round of Green Acres Program financing requires application by March 30, 2019; WHEREAS, the Township has retained Millennium Strategies as its grants rider; WHEREAS, in order to seek Green Acres funding a public meeting must be conducted; WHEREAS, the Township desires to schedule the public meeting on March 19, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. before the Township Council as governing body; WHEREAS, notice must be published at least fifteen (15) days in advance in a newspaper of general circulation; WHEREAS, the Township continues to perform due diligence with regard to the potential purchase of the Property; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, that the Township shall schedule a public hearing concerning the potential funding of a portion of the Property from the Green Acres Program for Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. before the Township Council of the Township of West Orange; and it be further RESOLVED, that notice of the public hearing shall be posted on the bulletin board of the Municipal Clerk and advertised in accordance with applicable law.
