2374-13 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING CHAPTER 7, TRAFFIC, SUBSECTION 7-23.3, U- TURN PROHIBITIONS, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, in the County of Essex, State of New Jersey as follows: Section 1. Subsection 7-23.3, U-Turn Prohibitions, of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange is hereby supplemented and amended as follows: (italic type denotes deletion, bold type denotes addition): Location Limits Stanford Avenue From Pleasant Valley Way to Crestwood Drive westerly intersection. Section 2. If any provisions of this Ordinance or application thereof, under any circumstances, is held invalid, the invalidity shall not affect any of the provisions or applications of this Ordinance that can be given effect without the valid provision(s) or application and to this end, the provisions of this Ordinance are severable. Section 3. All other Ordinances or parts of Ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage and publication in accordance with law. Robert D. 2374-13 LEGISLATIVE HISTORY This Ordinance will prohibit U-Turns on Stanford Avenue from Pleasant Valley Way to the westerly intersection with Crestwood Drive. This section of Stanford Avenue is adjacent to the Pleasantdale Elementary School, and prohibiting U-Turns on this section of Stanford Avenue will make it safer for both motorists and pedestrians and lead to the more efficient flow of traffic.
