24-20 January 21, 2020 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE ESSEX COUNTY OPEN SPACE TRUST FUND FOR THE DEGNAN PARK SOFTBALL FIELD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT BY THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE WHEREAS, the Essex County Open Space Trust Fund provides grants to municipalities in Essex County for the assistance in acquisition, historic preservation or the development of recreational facilities; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange desires to further the public interest by obtaining funding through the 2020 Essex County Open Space Trust Fund in the amount of $150,000.00 to fund the Degnan Park Softball Field Improvement Project; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Township of West Orange as follows: 1. The Mayor and Council of the Township of West Orange authorizes the Mayor and/or Township Administrator to make an application for such a grant and act as the authorized correspondent of the above-named applicant; 2. The Mayor and/or Township Administrator is hereby authorized to execute a grant agreement and any amendment there with the County of Essex for the Degnan Park Softball Field Improvement Project; 3. That, if the funds provided by the County are less than the total project cost specified above, the applicant has the balance of funding necessary to complete the project; and 4. That, the applicant agrees to comply with all applicable federal, State, County, and local laws, rules, and regulations in its performance of the project; and 5. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately. CERTIFICATION I, Karen J. Carnevale, R.M.C, Municipal Clerk, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a resolution adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Township of West Orange at a meeting held on the 21st of January, 2020.
