20-21 January 26, 2021 R E S O L U T I O N ESSEX COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM YEAR 2021 WHEREAS, certain Federal funding will potentially be available for Essex County under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 as amended and supplemented, which Act is commonly known and referred to as the Community Development Block Grant; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange has a need and desire for assistance under the Act and Program as aforesaid in order to improve essential services to the residents of areas which qualify for assistance under the Act and Program as aforementioned. WHEREAS, the Township by Resolution 7-21 dated January 5, 2021 adopted a Priority List of five projects for Program Year 2021; and WEHREAS, subsequent to the adoption of the Priority List and prior to the filing deadline of January 8, 2021 with Essex County a sixth application was submitted; and WHEREAS, the Township supports this application and desires to amend the Priority List for 2021. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, authorizes, on behalf of the Township of West Orange, the submission of applications for funding of the attached list, known as the 2021 Community Development Block Grant Program list, revised January 20, 2021 in the priority order as shown. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the Township of West Orange is authorized to sign all applications and execute any agreements with the County of Essex and the Municipal Clerk to attest his signature for projects to be funded under this program.
