25-21 January 26, 2021 RESOLUTION TO UPGRADE THE 800 MHz RADIO COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT WHEREAS, the Township needs to replace non serviceable radio equipment to allow us to continue operating on the proprietary EDACS system until the remainder of the phased purchases are completed; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be used by all emergency services within West Orange and allow interoperability with other public safety and emergency service agencies; and WHEREAS, this equipment will allow West Orange the latest in technology to support its First responders and emergency personnel; and WHEREAS, Eastern Communications, LTD. is a New Jersey State Contract vendor who will be the supplier for the L3Harris proprietary equipment through contract No. A83932 (see “Exhibit A”; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange as a Local Government Unit, may without advertising for bids, purchase any goods or services under any contract for such goods or services entered into on behalf of the State by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of the Treasury pursuant to the provision of N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-12. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township of West Orange Council that the award to upgrade the Radio Equipment go to Eastern Communications Ltd. 48-14 36TH Street, Long Island City, NY 11101 in the amount of $998,997.20. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to arrange to pay for the foregoing in accordance with the terms of the Purchase Order on behalf of the Township of West Orange with funds approved by the Chief Financial Officer.
