27-21 January 26, 2021 Resolution Appointing Panayiota Reynolds as Temporary Qualified Purchasing Agent from February 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022 WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-9g provides that in the event of a vacancy in the position of Qualified Purchasing Agent, the governing body may appoint a person who does not possess a Qualified Purchasing Agent certificate to serve as a Temporary Purchasing Agent for one year commencing from the date of the vacancy and that that person may be reappointed as a Temporary Purchasing Agent for one additional year following the end of the first temporary appointment; and WHEREAS, the position of Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) will be vacant due to the retirement of Anne DeSantis as of February 1, 2021; and WHEREAS, the current Assistant Purchasing Agent, Panayiota Reynolds, has successfully completed all the necessary coursed to qualify to sit or the QPA examination; and WHEREAS, the current Assistant Purchasing Agent, Panayiota Reynolds, will sit for the QPA exam once it has been scheduled yet a third time since being twice cancelled because of the COVID-19 Pandemic; and WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends the Township’s current Assistant Purchasing Agent, Panayiota Reynolds, be appointed as the Temporary Qualified Purchasing Agent for a one-year term beginning on February 1, 2021 and expiring January 31, 2022; and WHEREAS, as Temporary Qualified Purchasing Agent, Panayiota Reynolds will be compensated in accordance with the Township Salary Ordinance for the position of Purchasing Agent; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the West Orange Township Council, County of Essex, State of New Jersey that: 1. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-9g, Panayiota Reynolds be and hereby is appointed as Temporary Qualified Purchasing Agent for a one-year term beginning on February 1, 2021 and expiring January 31,2022; and 2.
