7-22 January 4, 2022 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on May 25, 2000, a mortgage was made by Inja Smith and James Smith, owners of the property at 214 Gregory Avenue (the “Property”), as part of a loan through the West Orange Housing Rehabilitation Program in the amount of $15,000; and WHEREAS, the mortgage for the Property was recorded on January 12, 2001 with the Essex County Register of Deeds and Mortgages in Book 7658, Page 0893; and WHEREAS, the owners of the Property are finalizing the sale of the Property to a buyer; and WHEREAS, to finalize the sale of the Property, the $15,000 due on the mortgage has been paid to the Township of West Orange (the “Township”) the Owner from the proceeds of the sale of the Property in full satisfaction of the mortgage; and WHEREAS, a Discharge of Mortgage has been prepared, annexed hereto as Exhibit “A,” for execution and recording with the Essex County Register of Deeds and Mortgages. NOW, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute the Discharge of Mortgage, annexed hereto as Exhibit “A,” as to the Property; and be it further RESOLVED that the Municipal Clerk be and is hereby authorized to attest to the Mayor’s signature on the Discharge of Mortgage concerning the Property; and be it further RESOLVED that a copy of the Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law. __________________________________ ________________________________ Karen Carnevale, R.M.C.
