RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange (the “Township”) desires to enter into a Services Agreement with Goose Control Technology of NJ Inc. (“Goose Control Technology”) to perform services directed at reducing and/or eliminating the existing or potential resident Canada goose population on two specific municipal properties within the Township, including Degnan Park and the Oskar Schindler Performing Arts Center (the “Sites”); and WHEREAS, the Township Goose Control Technology has been providing such services to the Township for more than twenty (20) years; and WHEREAS, the Township seeks to enter into a Service Agreement with Goose Control Technology for the year 2022 to provide Canada goose removal consistent with the terms of the Service Agreement annexed hereto as Exhibit “A” for a term of one year at a rate of $2,750 for egg treatment at the Sites, $250 for permit facilitation/recording keeping, and $500 for volunteer management for nest identification upon the Township’s request, for a total contract amount not to exceed $3,250; and WHEREAS, the Township Engineer and the Health Officer reports that Goose Control Technology has performed in a satisfactory manner in the past and recommends that the Township continue retaining the services of Goose Control Technology; and WHEREAS, the Agreement is exempt from the requirements of the Local Public Contracts Law, because the contract price falls below the bid threshold. NOW, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to execute the Service Agreement with Goose Control Technology, annexed hereto as Exhibit “A;” and be it further
RESOLVED, that the Township Clerk be and is hereby authorized to attest to the Mayor’s signature on the Service Agreement; and be it further RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution shall be available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law.
