94-22 April 5, 2022 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Elnardo Julian Webster, Sr. was a West Orange resident for many years and served with distinction on the Township Council for the Township of West Orange; and WHEREAS, on March 22, 2022, Mr. Webster passed away; and WHEREAS, Mr. Webster was a legendary basketball player who played professional basketball for the American Basketball League; and WHEREAS, Mr. Webster was one of the greatest players ever for the St. Peter’s Peacocks of Jersey City who recently went to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament which accomplishment had never occurred before; and WHEREAS, Mr. Webster also played for the American Basketball Association as a distinguished player for the New York Nets and the Memphis Pros; and WHERAS, Mr. Webster served on the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders; WHEREAS, Mr. Webster served his community with distinction in numerous capacities; and WHEREAS, the Mayor directed that the Township flags be flown at half-staff in Mr. Webster’s memory; NOW, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange recognizes, salutes, honors and mourns the passing of Elnardo Julian Webster, Sr. who made a tremendously positive impact throughout the communities and state he served in an exemplary manner.
