106-22 April 26, 2022 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Township has authorized the issuance of bonds with regard to the library redevelopment project at 10 Rooney Circle in the Township (“New Library”); and WHEREAS, the Township has been the successful recipient of Library Bond Grant Funds from the State of New Jersey; and WHEREAS, the Library Board and its Executive Director have been working closely with the Township concerning the New Library; and WHEREAS, Anthony Iovino, AIA, PP, LEED of Arcari Iovino Architects, PC of Little Ferry NJ is serving as the architect with regard to the New Library (“Architect”); and WHEREAS, the Architect designed the bid specifications with regard to the New Library; and WHEREAS, in or about January 14, 2022, the Township issued the bid specification for the new library; and WHEREAS, on March 10, 2022, the Township received bids for the New Library; and WHEREAS, approximately ten (10) entities responded to the bid specification; and WHEREAS, the Architect has recommended a rebid be conducted due to the proposals being in excess of the previously projected amounts and determining that a rebid with certain alternates would promote further competitive analysis; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer concurs with the Architect after conferring with the Library Board Attorney, the Township Attorney and the Township Engineer;

4828-3398-4998, v. 1 NOW, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that the bids received March 10, 2022, be and are hereby rejected and a rebid is hereby authorized.
