LEPORE Director, Municipal Engineer April 14, 2022 Mayor and Township Council Municipal Building 66 Main Street West Orange, NJ 07052 RE: PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF SOLAR POWERED FLASHING LED BEACON PEDESTRIAN CROSSING SIGNS GARDEN STATE HIGHWAY PRODUCTS, INC, Mayor Parisi, Council President McCartney and Council Members, The Township desires to purchase and install four (4) Solar Powered Flashing LED Beacon Pedestrian Crossing Signs from Garden State Highway Products, Inc., through the Somerset County Co-Op, CC-0099-21. These flashing beacons will be installed along Main Street at Babcock Place and the West Orange Community House and at the Edison School Driveway and Park Terrace at the Dunkin Donuts. Purchases of these products from Garden State Highway Products, Inc. will exceed the bid threshold of $44,000.00 for year 2022. I am requesting that you approve the attached Resolution, which will allow the purchase in excess of the bid threshold through the Somerset County Co-Op, CC-0099-21 and authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue and execute a Purchase Order to Garden State Highway Products, Inc., 301 Riverside Drive, Millville, NJ 08332 in the amount of $44,952.32. Attached is a Google Street View Map which is typical of the proposed signs except the signs will be double side with four beacons in each direction and the push button to activate them will be on the sign’s mast.
