114-22 April 26, 2022 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township desires to purchase and install four (4) Solar Powered Flashing LED Beacon Pedestrian Crossing Signs through the Somerset County Co-Op, CC-0099-21 as per attached sales quote submitted by Garden State Highway Products, Inc. dated April 7, 2022 in the amount of $44,952.32; and WHEREAS, these flashing beacons will be installed along Main Street at Babcock Place and the West Orange Community House and at the Edison School Driveway and Park Terrace at the Dunkin Donuts; and WHEREAS, for 2022, purchases for these products though Garden State Highway Products, Inc. under Somerset County Co-Op. CC-0099-21 will exceed the bid threshold of $44,000.00; and WHEREAS, purchases in excess of the bid threshold through a Municipal Cooperative are allowed with the approval by Resolution of the Township Council; and WHEREAS, as a local government unit and a member of the Somerset County Cooperative can purchase such items, pursuant to the provision made in the Local Public Contracts Law N.J.S.A. 40A:11-5(2), without public advertising for such goods or services, through contracts already secured by the United States of America, the State of New Jersey, County or Municipality thereof; and WHEREAS, the vendor Garden State Highway Products, Inc. located at 301 Riverside Drive, Millville, NJ 08332 is under contract with the Somerset County Co-Op, CC-0099-21.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange who hereby authorizes the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Township, to issue and execute a Purchase Order for $44,952.32 Garden State Highway Products, 301 Riverside Drive, Millville, NJ 08332 with funds certified available by the Chief Financial Officer for the purchase and installation of four Solar Powered Flashing LED Beacon Pedestrian Crossing Signs.
