200-22 August 9, 2022 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange desires to acquire one (1) truck with body and salt spreader; and WHEREAS, the Township Council appropriated monies for this vehicle and equipment in the Township’s 2021 Capital Budget; and WHEREAS, the Township and its Department of Public Works have purchased truck chassis provided by Allegiance Trucks, 525 West Linden Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036; and body and salt spreader provided by Cliffside Body Corporation; 130 Broad Avenue, Fairview, NJ 07022; and WHEREAS, the Township and its Department of Public Works are very satisfied with the truck chassis provided by Allegiance Trucks and body and salt spreader provided by Cliffside Body Corporation; and WHEREAS, to maintain consistency and a high level of satisfaction, the Township desires to Purchase one (1) truck chassis with body and salt spreader; and WHEREAS, Allegiance Trucks and Cliffside Body Corporation products may be acquired and installed through a State approved Cooperative Purchasing Agency known as the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey (ESCNJ), of which the Township is a member, Contract No. 20/21-55; and WHEREAS, the body and salt spreader products of Cliffside Body Corporation must be installed on a truck chassis by Allegiance Trucks that meets their specification; and WHEREAS, Allegiance Trucks provided a cost proposal dated July 8, 2022 for the truck Chassis and Cliffside Body Corporation provided a cost proposal dated July 19, 2022 in accordance with ESCNJ Contract 20/21-55; and WHEREAS, the cost breakdown of the proposals are as follows: Truck Chassis $177,858.00 Body and Salt Spreader $97,234.00 ______________________ Total $275,092.00 ; and WHEREAS, the cost proposal and product specifications are satisfactory to the

Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds exist for these products; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs in the foregoing. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that a contract for the purchase of a truck chassis and body and salt spreader be awarded to Allegiance Trucks, 525 West Linden Avenue, Linden, NJ 07036 and Cliffside Body Corporation, 130 Broad Avenue, Fairview, NJ 07022 in accordance with their proposals dated July 8, 2022 and July 19, 2022 which comply with their contract No. 20/21-55 with a State approved cooperative purchasing agency, Educational Services Commission of New Jersey in the total amount of $275,092.00.
