227-22 September 6, 2022 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township as part of the Redevelopment along Executive Drive and Rooney Circle acquired the office building and land known as 10 Rooney Circle; and WHEREAS, a portion of this building will be used as the new West Orange Public Library; and WHEREAS, to determine if the existing structure can accommodate the floor loads used in Library designs which are greater than that of office buildings, an analysis of the steel floor beams is required; and WHEREAS, the contractor for the renovation of the building, H&S Construction and Mechanical, Inc., of Elizabeth, NJ, submitted Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $6,946.54 dated August 25, 2022 to cut sections of the steel beams for testing; and WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 is acceptable to the design architect, Arcari Iovino Architects, P.C., Little Ferry, NJ as well as the Municipal Engineer; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds exist for this Change Order; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs in the foregoing. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that Change Order No. 1 with H&S Construction and Mechanical, Inc. in the amount of $6,946.54 or a 0.14 percent increase in the original contract amount of $5,075,000.00 bringing the adjusted contract amount to $5,081,946.54 is approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Administrator John O. Gross is authorized to execute the Change Order on behalf of the Township of West Orange. Karen J.
