297-22 November 22, 2022 RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT FOR SNOW REMOVAL SERVICES FROM SIDEWALKS, PATHS, et.al. WITH TWO (2), ONE (1) YEAR OPTIONS for 2022-2023 WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange has advertised for bids, pursuant to the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law (N.J.S.A.40A:11-1) for Snow Removal Services form Sidewalks, Paths, Crosswalks, Bus Shelters and Stops within the Township for 2022-2023 with Two (2), One (1) Year Options, due on October 18, 2022; WHEREAS, at the date and time the bids were due, the Township received bids from one contractor; and WHEREAS, the West Orange Department of Public Works has reviewed the bid received and has recommended that the bidder be awarded the contract for both Option 1, which includes the Northeast and Northwest quadrants of the Township, and Option 2, which includes the Southeast and Southwest quadrants of the Township; and WHEREAS, this bidder has provided three (3) Snowplow Trucks for the Township plowing in two (2) snow routes before, and performed this work competently and as required.; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that a one-year service contract with an option for up to two additional one-year periods for Snow Removal Services for the year(s) 2022-2023 be awarded to: AMERICAN ASPHALT & TRUCKING, LLC 818 SUMMER AVENUE NEWARK, N.J. 07014 in an amount not to exceed $60,000.00.
