14-23 January 10, 2023 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township as part of the Redevelopment along Executive Drive and Rooney Circle acquired the office building and land known as 10 Rooney Circle; and WHEREAS, a portion of this building will be used as the new West Orange Public Library; and WHEREAS, the Township’s architect, Arcari Iovino of Little Ferry, NJ the Township’s contractor for this project, H&S Construction and Mechanical Inc. of Elizabeth, NJ needs to engage a structural engineer to calculate supports for the rooftop equipment as part of the contract for design-build work; and WHEREAS, the amount of structural steel is to be calculated by structural engineer; and WHEREAS, H&S Construction and Mechanical, Inc., of Elizabeth, NJ, submitted Change Order No. 9 in the amount of $17,422.45 dated December 22, 2022 to provide steel framing to support new rooftop equipment at new locations; and WHEREAS, Change Order No. 9 is acceptable to Arcari Iovino Architects, P.C., Little Ferry, NJ as well as the Municipal Engineer; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds exist for these Change Orders; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs in the foregoing. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that Change Order No. 9 in the amount of $17,422.45 be approved, and with Change Order No. 1 of $6,946.54, Change Order No. 2 of $25,366.66 and Change Order No. 3 of $14,013.60, Change Order No. 4 of $8,245.39, Change Order No 5 of $8,800.01, Change Order No. 6 of $13,933.89, Change Order No. 7 $1,735.04, Change Order No. 8 of $6,811.93 represents a 2.03 percent increase in the original contract amount of $5,075,000.00 bringing the adjusted contract amount to $5,178,275.51. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Administrator John O. Gross is authorized to execute the Change Order on behalf of the Township of West Orange. Karen J.
