21-23 January 10, 2023 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange proposes 2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project for the Road Rehabilitation of Valley Road- from Freeman Street to Kingsley St. and Road Rehabilitation of Ashwood Terrace and William Street from Franklin Avenue to Main Street; and WHEREAS, to design and specify these improvements the Township requires the services of a professional engineering firm and land surveying firm; and WHEREAS, the Township Engineer prepared a Request for Proposals dated November 10, 2022 for these professional design services; and WHEREAS, the Township Engineer solicited a proposal from five professional engineering and land surveying firms; and WHEREAS, CME Associates, responded to the Request for Proposal; and WHEREAS, CME Associates have performed similar work for the Township on several projects and their work quality is very good; and WHEREAS, by letter dated January 3, 2023 the Township Engineer recommended a professional services contract be awarded to CME Associates, 1460 Route 9 South, Howell, NJ 07731 for a complete bid package including design plans, specifications and bid documents; and WHEREAS, CME Associates responded to the Township’s Request for Qualifications for Professional Services for 2022 and 2023; and WHEREAS, sufficient funds exist for the services outlined in the proposal of CME Associates; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs in the foregoing. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, New Jersey that a professional services contract be awarded to CME Associates to provide professional engineering and land surveying services for the 2022 Community Development Block Grant Project for the Road Rehabilitation of Valley Road- from Freeman Street to Kingsley St.

and Road Rehabilitation of Ashwood Terrace and William Street from Franklin Avenue to Main Street in the amount of $46,000.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be published in the West Orange Chronicle within ten (10) days of its approval as required by State Statute. Karen J. Carnevale, R.M.C.
