46-24 January 23, 2024 AWARD of CONTRACT EXTENSION for TREE REMOVAL SERVICES - 2024 WHEREAS, Resolution No. 315-22 was authorized by the Township of West Orange Council for TREE REMOVAL SERVICES for 2023 with Two (2), One (1) Year Options to extend; and WHEREAS, the Township wishes to continue contracted tree removal services; and WHEREAS, the Township desires to extend this contract as allowed in the original bid document giving the Township the option to extend the contract for two (2) one (1) year periods; and WHEREAS, the West Orange Department of Public Works has been satisfied with the past performance of these vendors, who are agreeable to existing rates to be charged; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends extension of this contract for a second year, and the Township Council concurs with this recommendation. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Council of the Township of West Orange that the Tree Removal Services contract be extended for the year 2024 for an additional one (1) year period period to: RICH TREE SERVICE, INC. 325 BERGEN STREET SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J. 07080 As the lowest responsible bidder for trees under 16” diameter. BEUCLER TREE EXPERTS 48 HAROLD STREET TENAFLY, N.J.07670 As the lowest responsible bidder for trees between 16” and 36” in diameter. AND DOWNES TREE SERVICE CO., INC. 65 ROYAL AVENUE HAWTHORNE, N.J. 07970 As the lowest responsible bidder for trees above 37” in diameter.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Financial Officer is hereby authorized to arrange to pay for the foregoing in accordance with the terms in the purchase order with funds certified when funds made available.
