50-24 January 23, 2024 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING A MUNICIPAL ENGINEER WHEREAS, N.J.S.A 40A: 9-140 requires that in every Municipality, the governing body, shall provide for the appointment of a municipal engineer and fix their compensation in an annual salary or fixed fee basis or at an hourly rate, and based upon actual time and expenses agreed prior to the rendering of services; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange has a need for professional engineering services to be provided pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A- 20.5; and WHEREAS, the Township has established a salary range in its existing Salary Ordinance for the position of Municipal Engineer; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the West Orange Township Council that Zayibeth Carballo is hereby appointed as the Township’s Municipal Engineer as a Township employee, effective December 1, 2023; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Zayibeth Caballo is to be compensated in accordance with the Township’s approved Salary Ordinance.
