51-24 January 23, 2024 Resolution Providing Advice and Consent to the Appointments of the Director of the Department of Engineering and the Director of the Department of Public Works WHEREAS, the Honorable Susan McCartney was elected Mayor by the voters of the Township of West Orange on November 8, 2022; and WHEREAS, NJSA 40:69A-43(b) specifies that the Mayor shall appoint, with the advice and consent of the Council, Directors for each department, to serve during the term of office of the mayor appointing him/her and all other municipal officers unless a different appointment procedure is clearly required by this plan of government or by general law; and WHEREAS, the following appointments have been made and/or approved by the Honorable Mayor McCartney effective December 1, 2023: Zayibeth Carballo-Bravo Director of the Department of Engineering Joseph Pelose Director of the Department of Public Works THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the West Orange Township Council does hereby grant its consent for these appointments. _____________________________________ _____________________________________ Karen J Carnevale, RMC, Municipal Clerk Bill Rutherford, Council President Adopted: January 23, 2024
