84-24 March 12, 2024 RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE REPLACEMENT OF CARPETING, SPECIFCALLY FOR THE POLICE AND JUSTICE BUILDING WITH A RESILIANT 24/7 PRODUCT WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange (Township) employs a Nationally Accredited Police Force (Police Department); and WHEREAS, the Police Department is a 24/7/365 Accredited Public Safety Agency; and WHEREAS, the Police Department employs a staff off 110 civilian and sworn employees; and WHEREAS, the Township wishes to utilize Cooperative Contract Purchasing Methods to replace the carpet in the police and justice building that is soiled and in disrepair; and WHEREAS, the vendor, Direct Flooring located at 12 Minneakoning Road in Flemington NJ is a NJ State Contract Vendor utilizing ESCNJ 23/24-14 Commercial Carpet and Flooring from the Educational Services Commission of New Jersey Contract; and (see Exhibit A). NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Municipal Council of the Township of West Orange who hereby authorizes the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Township, to issue and execute a Purchase Order for $275,798.07 to Direct Flooring with funds certified available by the Chief Financial Officer.
