93-24 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange requires Professional Architectural and Land Surveying Services for Landscape Improvements and Rain Garden at 10 Rooney Circle which include the preparation of a landscaping plan and designing a rain garden adjacent to the existing West Orange Library; and WHEREAS, to provide architectural and land surveying services for Landscape Improvements and Rain Garden at 10 Rooney Circle, the Township requires the services of a Professional Engineering Firm; and WHEREAS, the Township Engineer solicited proposals from six Professional Engineering firms; and WHEREAS, CME Associates, responded to the Request for Proposal; and WHEREAS, CME Associates is currently working on the bid documents for the pickleball courts and sports lighting, parking lot and lighting improvements project at 10 Rooney Circle; and WHEREAS, CME Associates will be incorporating the landscaping plan and rain garden design construction plans to the bid documents for the pickleball courts and sports lighting, parking lot and lighting improvements project at 10 Rooney Circle; and WHEREAS, using this firm will expedite the design process, minimize the need for bidding the project separately and expedite the construction process once the project is awarded; and WHEREAS, CME Associates, have performed similar work for the Township on several projects and their work quality is very good; and WHEREAS, by letter dated March 5, 2024 the Township Engineer recommended a professional services contract be awarded to CME Associates, 1460, Route 9 South, Howell, NJ 07731 for Professional Engineering Services associated with Professional Architectural and Land Surveying Services for Landscape Improvements and Rain Garden at 10 Rooney Circle; and WHEREAS, CME Associates responded to the Township’s Request for Qualifications for Professional Services for 2024; and

WHEREAS, sufficient funds exist for the services outlined in the proposal of Professional Architectural and Land Surveying Services for Landscape Improvements and Rain Garden at 10 Rooney Circle; and WHEREAS, the Township Council concurs in the foregoing. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange, New Jersey that a professional services contract be awarded to CME Associates, 1460, Route 9 South, Howell, NJ 07731 to provide professional engineering services for Professional Architectural and Land Surveying Services for Landscape Improvements and Rain Garden at 10 Rooney Circle for an amount not to exceed $15,000.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be published in the West Orange Chronicle within ten (10) days of its approval as required by State Statute. Karen J.
