141-24 April 24, 2024 RESOLUTION APPOINTING LOUIS REYNOLDS AS DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:9-154.6(g) requires that the governing body shall appoint a principal public works manager for that municipality; and WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange has a need for a director of the department of public works; and WHEREAS, pursuant to § 2-2.2 of the Township of West Orange Municipal Code, the Mayor shall appoint the Director of each Department; WHEREAS, since February 12, 2024, due to emergent circumstances, Louis Reynolds has been acting as the interim Director of the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, the Township has previously budgeted for the Director of the Department of Public Works; and WHEREAS, the Mayor is hereby appointing Louis Reynolds to serve as the Director of the Department of Public Works pursuant to § 2-2.2 of the Township Code; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the West Orange Township Council that Louis Reynolds is hereby appointed as the Township Director of Department of Public Works effective February 12, 2024; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Louis Reynolds be compensated in accordance with the Township’s approved budget and Salary Ordinance.
