143-24 April 24, 24 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Township of West Orange developed a traffic calming plan along the entire length of Main Street, an Essex County Road; and WHEREAS, one component of the traffic calming plan is decorative stamped concrete crosswalks at two signalized intersections along Main Street including; Main Street, Northfield Avenue, Valley Road Main Street, Mt. Pleasant Avenue, Renna Plaza, White Street WHEREAS, the County will install the decorative stamped concrete crosswalks as part of their Main Street Streetscape Improvements for Federal Project No. 02-2023-183; and WHEREAS, the Township will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the decorative stamped concrete crosswalks; and WHEREAS, one of the County requirements is for the Municipality to maintain the crosswalks in good condition and to acknowledge this obligation by a Resolution of the governing body. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Council of the Township of West Orange that it does hereby authorize the Department of Public Works of the Township of West Orange to assume responsibility for maintenance and repair of the decorative stamped concrete crosswalks to be installed at two intersections along Main Street.
