2879-24 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3, SECTION 17.1 OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE (ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONs - Preparation) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, NEW JERSEY that Chapter 3 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange be and are hereby amended as follows: I. PURPOSE The purpose of this ordinance is to require that ordinances which revise or amend provisions of the West Orange Municipal Code be drafted in a manner to show the changes being made to the Code under the Ordinance. II. CHAPTER 3, SECTION 17.1 SHALL BE AND HEREBY IS AMENDED AND SUPPLEMENTED TO INCORPORATE THE FOLLOWING: 3-17.1 Preparation. Ordinances and resolutions shall be prepared for the consideration of Township Council by the Township Attorney or the legal assistant upon motion of the Council or request of the Mayor. Prior to introduction, each proposed ordinance requiring or permitting administrative action shall be submitted to the Business Administrator and the department head concerned. Ordinance which revise or amend provisions of the West Orange Municipal Code shall be drafted in a manner showing the revisions or amendments being made to the Code. III. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES Any Ordinances of the Township which are in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. IV. SEVERABILITY If any part of this Ordinance shall be deemed invalid, such parts shall be severed and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining parts of this Ordinance. Formatted: Right
