68-25 February 11, 2025 A RESOLUTION APPROVING PROPOSAL FROM MATRIX NEW WORLD FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AT THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 55 LAKESIDE FOR THE PREPARATION OF A HAZARDOUS DISCHARGE SITE REMEDIATION (HDSRF) GRANT APPLICATION AND SUBMISSION NTE $7,500.00 WHEREAS, on January 22, 2025, the Township of West Orange (the “Township”) received a proposal from Matrix New World Engineering, Land Surveying, and Landscape Architecture, P.C. (“Matrix”) to perform environmental services at: 55 Lakeside Avenue (Former Barton Press), West Orange, New Jersey, also known as Block 115 Lots 15 and 17 on the Township of West Orange Tax Map; and WHEREAS, the preparation of a remedial action for a Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation (HDSRF) grant application is required to receive remedial action funding; and WHEREAS, the Former Barton Press is part of the Lakeside Avenue Brownfield Development Area (BDA) as identified by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Office of Brownfield and Community Revitalization letter dated December 31, 2024 attached herein as Exhibit “B”; and NOW, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE TOWNSHIP COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, that the Township accepts the proposal from Matrix attached herein as Exhibit “A,” not to exceed $7,500.00 to complete the scope of work; RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law.
