2893-25 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING CHAPTER 2, SECTION 5.3 GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE (DIRECTOR OF STAFF OPERATIONS) BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, NEW JERSEY that Chapter 2, Sections 5.3 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of West Orange be and are hereby repealed as follows: I. PURPOSE The purpose of this ordinance is to eliminate the position of Director of Staff Operations by way of the repeal of the provisions of the Township of West Orange Municipal Code establishing the position of the Director of Staff Operations. II. CHAPTER 2 SECTIONS 5.3 SHALL BE AND HEREBY IS REPEALED AND DELETED IN ITS ENTIRELTY AS FOLLOWS: III. REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES Any Ordinances of the Township which are in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. IV. SEVERABILITY If any part of this Ordinance shall be deemed invalid, such parts shall be severed and the invalidity thereof shall not affect the remaining parts of this Ordinance. V. The Director of Staff Operations may hold another office or position with the Township, and shall work under the direction and supervision of the Mayor and Business Administrator. The Director's duties shall include, but will not necessarily be limited to:¶ ¶ <#>Supervising Department Heads on how to improve efficiency and uniformity in day-to-day staff operations.¶ ¶ <#>Supervising departmental operating procedures to improve communication with and services to residents.¶ ¶ <#>Recommending revisions to departmental operating procedures, as appropriate.¶ ¶ <#>Streamlining administration by dealing with day-to-day operational issues as they arise in each department.¶ ¶ <#>Suggesting re-organization or reassignment of personnel between departments, as appropriate, in order to improve efficiency.¶ ¶ <#>Planning, organizing, and coordinating
