84-25 February 25, 2025 RESOLUTION AWARD 2015 USED OR NEW 30-PASSENGER FORD F550 SUPER DUTY CHASSIS AND CAB JITNEY TYPE BUS OR EQUIVALENT WHEREAS, the West Orange Transportation Division, a division of the Department of Health, requested a backup Jitney-type bus due to the increase in passengers, supporting the Senior Services transportation program, the aging of the fleet, and the recent decommissioning of two buses due to lack of functionality, which necessitates the addition of more buses, and WHEREAS, specifications for (1) 2015 model used or new 30-passenger Ford F550 Super Duty Chassis and cab Jitney type bus or equivalent was advertised pursuant to the New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law (N. J. S. 40A:11-23); and WHEREAS, at the date, time, and place advertised for the opening of said bids, the Township did receive three bids; and WHEREAS , the Township Purchasing Agent has verified that the successful bidder has complied with the bid specifications and is the lowest responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, the West Orange Department of Transportation and the Assistant Business Administrator have reviewed the bids and are satisfied with the product and cost and have further considered the recommendation of the Township Purchasing Agent as to the award of the said bid; and NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Municipal Council of the Township of West Orange that the purchase of One (1) 2015 model used or new 30-passenger Ford F550 Super Duty Chassis and cab Jitney type bus or equivalent is hereby awarded to: Ace Limousine located at 615 Wesley Avenue, Pleasantville, NJ 08232 in the amount of $55,000.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Administrator is hereby authorized to arrange to pay for said vehicle with the terms of a purchase order on behalf of West Orange from funds certified available by the Chief Financial Officer.
