#14134969.1 11-26 January 6, 2026 RESOLUTION FOR THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE, COUNTY OF ESSEX, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, ADOPTING TEMPORARY BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:4-19 FOR THE 2026 YEAR WHEREAS, it will be necessary to award contracts, incur commitments, and make payments during calendar year 2026 prior to the adoption of the municipal budget for calendar year 2026; and WHEREAS, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-19 provides the authorization to make temporary appropriations prior to the adoption of the municipal budget, the total of which may not exceed 35.00% of the previous year’s total budget, excluding debt service, capital improvements, deferred charges, public and private programs offset by revenues, and public assistance; and WHEREAS, the total amount of the 2025 Township Current Fund budget, exclusive of any appropriations for debt redemption, capital improvements, deferred charges, Reserve for Uncollected Taxes, public and private programs offset by revenues, and public assistance is the sum of $87,586,649.01; and WHEREAS, the total amount of the 2025 Township Pool Operating Fund budget, exclusive of any appropriations for debt redemption and deferred charges is the sum of $368,801.00; and WHEREAS, 35.00% of the total appropriations in the 2025 Current Fund budget, exclusive of any appropriations for debt redemption, capital improvements, deferred charges, Reserve for Uncollected Taxes, public and private programs offset by revenues, and public assistance is the sum of $30,655,326.80; and WHEREAS, 35.00% of the total appropriations in the 2025 Pool Operating Fund budget, exclusive of any appropriations for debt redemption and deferred charges is the sum of $129,080.00 WHEREAS, the maximum total appropriations for the 2026 Temporary Current Fund and Pool Operating Budgets are $45,937,464.23 and $130,301.53 respectively. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Council of the Township of West Orange, that the following appropriations, make up the 2026 temporary budgets.
