146-26 May 12, 2026 RESOLUTION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF WEST ORANGE AUTHORIZING SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT WHEREAS, certain issues have arisen between the Township of West Orange and Kimberly Steele (referred to collectively herein as the “Parties”) regarding a civil complaint for personal injuries dated April 10, 2023; and WHEREAS, the Parties to this litigation have engaged in settlement negotiations; and WHEREAS, as a result of those settlement negotiations, all controversies between the parties have been resolved, subject to the approval of the Settlement Agreement by the Township Council; and WHEREAS, the Settlement Agreement has been memorialized in a Release, the terms of which are incorporated herein by reference and attached hereto as “Exhibit A;” and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Township Council find that approving the Settlement Agreement is in the best interest of the Township. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Governing Body of the Township of West Orange, in the County of Essex, State of New Jersey that the Township Administrator is authorized to take all necessary steps to effectuate the terms set forth in the Settlement Agreement. BE IT FURTHER, RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution shall be made available in the Clerk’s office in accordance with applicable law. Karen J.
